Valmikipuram (Andhra Pradesh), Sept. 28 -- Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 5.73 crore at Sri Pattabhi Rama Swamy Temple in Valmikipuram, Annamayya district, on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said TTD was prioritising the renovation of ancient temples and construction of new temples to promote Sanatana Dharma at the grassroots level, in line with the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
As part of the initiative to construct 5,000 temples, works had commenced at 1,200 temples, he said.
Funds for the development of Sri Pattabhi Rama Swamy Temple were sanctioned following a request by Pileru MLA Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy.
