Vijayawada, June 24 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Sports M Ramprasad Reddy has announced that sports infrastructure including stadiums at Vizianagaram and Tirupati were constructed utilising Rs 75 crore Khelo India funds.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat in Amaravati, near here, on Wednesday, Ramprasad Reddy said that Vizzy stadium in Vizianagaram was constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore and the multipurpose indoor sports complex in Tirupati was constructed at a cost of Rs 5.72 crore.
The Minister informed that with the Rs 75 crore funds, extended by the Central government under Khelo India scheme, sports infrastructure is being developed in Vijayawada, Kuppam, Srikakulam, Rajamahendravaram and Guntur.
