Vijayawada, May 29 -- The solarization process for government buildings in Andhra Pradesh with a capacity of 200 MW, has already begun.
The programme is being implemented through the RESCO model, with solar panel installations under the net metering system.
At a review meeting with the officials at the Secretariat on Friday, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu observed that increased solar energy usage in government offices and schools would substantially reduce the electricity burden on the state and directed officials to focus intensively on implementation.
Andhra Pradesh currently ranks fourth in PM Surya Ghar implementation. The Chief Minister instructed departments to strive for the top position.
