Tirupati (AP), April 1 -- Several rare and complex urological surgeries have been successfully performed under the supervision of the Urology Department at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, hospital authorities said on Wednesday.
SVIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Ram said the department has been handling a growing number of patients from across Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states.
Head of the Urology Department Dr. Anil Kumar noted that thousands of urological procedures are being performed, including several rare and complex surgeries.
Highlighting recent cases, he said a 49-year-old patient from Tirupati district diagnosed with both kidney cancer and kidney stones underwent a highly advanced procedure.
