Vijayawada, Oct. 28 -- Heavy rains have begun lashing several coastal Andhra Pradesh districts under the impact of the Montha cyclonic storm since morning. Thick clouds spread all over the sky in the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts.
Heavy rain threw normal life out of gear in Visakhapatnam city this morning. Many thoroughfares and roads were inundated in two feet of water. Many trees were uprooted in the city. Three to four feet of water clogged the railway pass bridge at Gnanapuram, disrupting traffic.
