Narasaraopet, May 19 -- The police seized Rs 45.30 lakhs in cash while it was being taken in a bus at Tadipudi village of Chilakaluripet mandal in Palnadu district on Tuesday.
Sub-inspector Anil Kumar told the media a police team conducted checking of vehicles on the national highway. They found a person Mohammad Haneef was carrying Rs 45,30,000 cash in a private travel bus. He failed to produce any document pertaining to the money.
He told the police that he was taking the money to Chennai to buy gold. Since he did not have any supportive documents, the police seized the money and handed it over to the Income Tax officials.
