Vijayawada, July 4 -- With the Andhra Pradesh Tourism department giving the green signal to resume Papikondalu boat tourism on the Godavari river in Polavaram district, the popular cruises restarted on Saturday.
The boat tourism was halted on June 14 as a precautionary safety measure after one of the cruises developed a technical snag and was stranded on the river.
The Andhra PradeshTourism Development Corporation (APTDC) which operates one cruise has permitted the resumption of 15 cruises by private operators.
The boats resumed sailing today from the Gandipocamma temple located in Devipatnam village towards the picturesque Papikondalu hills from where they turned around for the return leg. The 20km distamce is covered in around two and ...
