Machilipatnam, Aug. 13 -- Former Minister and YSR Congress Party Krishna district president Perni Venkatramaiah Nani slammed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for sidelining the DGP and directly conducting a video conference with nearly 1,100 SHOs, Inspectors and DSPs across the state.
The Ex-Minister termed that act as bringing lower-level police officers directly under the CM's influence and using the police machinery in the coming municipal and panchayat elections.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Venkatramaiah said law and order had deteriorated and questioned why social media posts are treated as serious crimes while the death of a young woman doctor in Rajahmundry after being hit by a car was treated as an accident case.
