Vijayawada, May 22 -- As part of implementing austerity measures and observing the 'No Vehicle Day', Andhra Pradesh Minister for Water Resources Management Nimmala Ramanaidu cycled 18 kilometers from Ramavarappadu to Telugu Desam State office, located at Mangalagiri near here, on Friday.
The Minister boarded a train in Palakollu and travelled like a common man to Vijayawada. Braving scorching sun heat, he started pedaling a bicycle at Ramavarappadu, on the outskirts of the city. After cycling for about 10 kilometers, Telugu Desam party State president Palla Srinivasa Rao joined him at Tadepalli. Both travelled on the same bicycle and reached the TDP office.
