Vijayawada, March 7 -- A man tried to open fire with arevolver on police in a hotel while the police were conducting a check in the hotel here onSaturday. Police said that a police team conducted cordon and searchoperations at many places simultaneously across the State.
When a police team was checking in the Balaji hotel, located near the bus station, a youth, afterseeing the police, brought out his revolver and tried to open fire on them.
However, the trigger of the revolver was in a locked position so that he could notfire on the police. The police pounced upon him and snatched the revolver from him. He was identified him as Murali and seized a 9 MM type revolver and five bullets fromhim.
