Kakinada, Aug. 18 -- District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad on Tuesday directed district officials to make all necessary arrangements and gear up for conducting local body elections in accordance with the State government's directions.
Addressing Municipal Commissioners and officials of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Raj departments at a special meeting at the Collectorate here, the Collector directed officials to make arrangements for the ZPTC and MPTC elections along with the panchayat elections.
He instructed officials to thoroughly verify the voter lists of SC, ST and BC communities by conducting household-level inspections in all villages and complete the exercise by August 22.
