Vijayawada, April 8 -- Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, located in the heart of the city here, is being developed at a cost of over Rs 170 crore. Minister for Transport and Sports M Ramprasad Reddy laid the foundation for the development works at the IGM stadium here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the IGM Stadium would be developed by spending over Rs 170 crore in three phases with international standards.

The Minister said that Rs 20 crore would be allocated from the funds of Khalo India, and Rs 20 crore would be allocated from the Sports Authorities of AP (SAAP) funds, and the rest of the funds would be allocated by the Municipal Administration and the State Government to develop the IGM Stadium.
