Visakhapatnam, May 23 -- The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday said the renowned Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) has completed three decades of precision flying displays, showcasing the professionalism and operational excellence of the force through synchronised aerial performances.
The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team was formed in 1996 and is based at Air Force Station Bidar.
The team initially operated the Kiran Mk II aircraft, from which it derived its name "Surya Kiran", meaning "Rays of the Sun", a Defence release said here.
Over the years, the team became one of the most recognised symbols of the Indian Air Force through its aerobatic displays across the country.
