Vijayawada, Nov. 3 -- The Hinduja Group today announced investment of Rs 20,000 crore ($2.3 billion) in Andhra Pradesh envisaging expansion of its power plant in Visakhapatnam and investments in renewable solar and wind energy projects.
This followed a meetimg between Hinduja group Chairman Ashok P. Hinduja and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
A release from the Chief Minister's office here stated that at the heart of this announcement is the Group's plan to expand its existing 1,040 MW power plant at Visakhapatnam by an additional 1,600 MW (2 X 800 MW) through a nominated entity of the Hinduja Group.
