Visakhapatnam, Aug. 10 -- GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg on Monday directed officials to identify water-stressed areas and ensure alternative drinking water arrangements amid declining groundwater levels.
Garg said tanker supplies had been intensified in affected areas, with requests through the Dial-A-Tanker facility and online bookings to be addressed on priority.
He directed officials to provide free tanker water for up to three days in areas facing acute shortages, including KRM Colony, Mudasarlova, parts of Arilova and Peda Waltair Doctors' Colony.
The Commissioner inspected KRM Colony early Monday and interacted with residents before reviewing pipeline repair works.
