Bhimavaram, Aug. 16 -- In a tragic accident, four engineering students were drowned after the car they were travelling in plunged into the Narasapuram irrigation canal at Itampudi village of Iragavaram mandal of West Godavari district today.
Police said that five engineering students, studying at a private college in Narasapuram, were coming back to Narasapuram after attending a marriage of their friend at Peravali in a car when their car plunged into the irrigation canal in which four of them drowned. However, one was rescued.
The deceased were identified as Potula Lakshmibhanu (18), Nagireddy Dushwant (18), Cherukuri Rajaram (17) N Teja Sai Surya (19). Their bodies were retrieved from the canal.
