Narasaraopet, June 14 -- Four persons, including three children, were drowned in the river Krishna when a boat on which they were enjoying a ride capsized at Konuru village of Acchampet mandal in Palnadu district.
Police said that some people attended a function held in a house at Kosuru village. After the programme, some of them went to the river Krishna. As many as nine persons went into the river on a boat on a joy trip. The boat capsized in the river in which four were drowned and five were rescued by local fishermen.
The deceased were identified as Gandham Sandra (nine), Gandham Saini (10), Battula Karthik (12) and Konata Chaitanya (28). The bodies were retrieved from the river.
