Vijayawada, June 24 -- Popular Telugu film actor K Ram Charan launched the Andhra Premier League (APL) Season 5 on Wednesday. The event marked the start of the AP's premier T20 tournament, featuring seven teams playing 12 matches.
The week-long tournament will conclude on June 30, bringing together cricket enthusiasts from across the State. The inaugural match was played between Bhimavaram bulls and capital Amaravati Royals.
Charan also inaugurated the newly modernized ACA International Cricket Stadium, located in Mangalagiri, near here on Wednesday.
Charan attended as the chief guest accompanied by cine music director S Thaman. A large number of people attended the event and the entire stadium bustled with cricket buzz.
