Vijayawada, June 22 -- The Andhra Pradesh government is according top priority to the security of temples and the protection of their assets as part of a complete revamp of the state endowments department.
Addressing a press conference at the secretariat in Amaravati, near here, on Monday, Minister for Endowment Aanam Ramnarayana Reddy said special coordination committees have been constituted, comprising the DGP, the IG (Law and Order), and the Endowments Commissioner at the State level and the Collectors, SPs, and endowments officials at the district level.
Reddy informed that 21,672 temples in the State fall under the purview of the Endowments Department, and that 4.48 lakh acres of land are held as assets by these temples. The Ministe...
