Eluru, Oct. 23 -- Eluru district Collector K Vetri Selvi today directed officials to prepare proposals to carry out repairs on 50 minor irrigation tanks at an estimated cost of Rs 258 crore.

Selvi held a teleconference with irrigation and DWMA (District Water Management Agency) officials to review the condition of irrigation tanks, ongoing renovation work, and the enhancement of underground resources.

The Collector informed officials that the district has a total of 1,513 minor irrigation tanks. In the first phase, proposals were already submitted to the government for the repair, renovation, and reconstruction (RRR) of 175 tanks. In the second phase, RRR proposals have been prepared for 350 irrigation tanks.
