Vijayawada, May 16 -- Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan expressed grief and shock over the death of five MGNREGA women workers in Kakinada while working on Saturday.

The deputy Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families. In a statement here today, Pawan Kalyan assured of extending Rs 4 lakh to the kin of each deceased and Rs 2 lakh under the PM Suraksha, PM Jeevan Jyothi Yogana insurance schemes.

He said that they had instructed the officials to take all precautionary measures including regulating speed and put up sigh boards along the national highway to check road accidents.
