Rajahmundry, May 26 -- Ahead of the Godavari Pushkarams, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday pulled up the state pollution board for failing to issue a notice to the Andhra Paper Mills Limited over the discharge of effluents into the river.

On his second day of his tour of East Godavari district, the minister personally saw how the discharge from the paper mill was polluting the river and supervised the use of mobile kits by the pollution board staff to conduct a pollution test.

He asked the pollution control board Executive Engineer Shankar Naik why the company had not been put on notice so far.
