Visakhapatnam, Aug. 11 -- Commodore Sarvdeep Singh Dhody assumed command of INS Kalinga and took over as Station Commander, Naval Station Bheemunipatnam, at a formal Change of Command Ceremony held at INS Kalinga here.

He succeeded Commodore Anirudha Roy.

Commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1998 in the Electrical Branch, Commodore Dhody has held several operational, training and technical appointments during his career, a defence release said here.

His afloat appointments include service onboard INS Kirch and INS Brahmaputra.

He has also served at the Naval Dockyards in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
