Markapuram, March 26 -- In a horrific road accident near Rayavaram in Andhra Pradesh's Markapuram district, at least 10 passengers were burned alive after a private sleeper bus caught fire on Thursday morning.
The ill-fated sleeper bus, carrying around 40 passengers, was traveling from Hyderabad to Kanigiri when it collided with a tipper truck.
Following the collision, the bus caught fire and was completely gutted, police said here.
Several other passengers were injured in the accident and have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
District officials, including police and emergency services, rushed to the spot immediately and are currently overseeing rescue and relief operations.
