Visakhapatnam, July 25 -- Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita on Saturday said elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth and safe conduct of the annual Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina to be held on July 28 and 29, with an estimated 5 to 6 lakh devotees expected to participate in the 32-km walk around of the Simhachalam Hill.
She said around 2,700 police personnel will be deployed, while 40 public address systems, adequate lighting and 192 fire safety equipment units have also been arranged.
Addressing a press conference after reviewing the arrangements at the Collectorate, the Minister said all departments were working in coordination to ensure hassle-free facilities for pilgrims.
