Kadapa, Feb. 18 -- The accused in the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl was found dead in an irrigation tank at Kanasanivaripalle village of Kurabalakota mandal in Annamayya district on Wednesday.
SP Dhiraj told the media that the deceased Kulavardhan took a seven-year-old girl into his house and allegedly raped and murdered her. Later, he stuffed the body in a drum on Tuesday.
While the police have recovered the body of the minor girl in the presence of Kulavardhan, he escaped from the police custody on the way to the police station.
