Ongole, July 3 -- In a tragic road accident, four persons of a marriage party were killed and four others were injured when a stationary auto rickshaw was hit by a lorry on the outskirts of Kambham town on the Amaravati-Anantapur highway in the Markapur district in the wee hours on Friday.
Circle Inspector Mallikharjun said that 11 people were going to Kumbham for a marriage. The auto was stopped in front of the Vinayak Temple on the highway.
At the same time, a speeding coconut-laden lorry, going to Vyra in Telangana State, rammed the stationary auto rickshaw, killing Avula Alaknanda (19), Avula Ankalu (20), Avula Nagesh (17) and Avula Nageswari (2) instantaneously.
