Kakinada, May 16 -- In a ghastly road accident, four women workers of MGNREGA were killed and two others were injured when a tipper lorry ran over them on the Kuvvur bridge, near Kakinada on Saturday.
Police said that a group of NREGA workers were carrying out work. The manager called them to take a photo to the workplace. When the workers were crossing the highway, a speeding tipper lorry ran over them killing Vasamshetti Satyavati (60), Palika Krishnaveni (35), K Chittemma (45) and Chelluri Annavaram (45). All the deceased women belonged to Chidiga village. All the women died instantaneously.
