Kolkata, July 11 -- Former Trinamool Congress strongman from Birbhum, Anubrata Mandal, is set to leave former chief minister Mamata Banerjee's camp and join the Ritabrata Banerjee-led faction, on Saturday.

The move, if formally announced on Saturday as expected, would mark another major setback for the Kalighat camp amid the continuing split within the Trinamool Congress.

Sources in the Ritabrata faction said that discussions over Mandal's switch have been completed and only the formal announcement remains.

He is also likely to be appointed the Birbhum district president of the Ritabrata-led faction of the party.
