Prayagraj, Feb. 18 -- The Uttar pradesh Anti-Corruption Organisation team arrested inspector Vinod Kumar Sonkar for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000 at Bara police station, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The inspector had reportedly demanded the bribe from an accused in exchange for filing a final report in a pending case. Acting on a complaint filed by the accused party, the Anti-Corruption Team laid a trap. As soon as the complainant handed over the marked currency notes to the inspector in his office around 2:40 pm on Tuesday, the team caught him red-handed.
