Hingoli, June 25 -- An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Maharashtra's Hingoli district allegedly died by suicide after recording an emotional video message for his mother, bringing renewed focus on the intense pressure faced by students preparing for competitive examinations, officials said today.

The deceased, identified as Sushil Dhage, had appeared for the NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21 after the original test held on May 3 was cancelled over allegations of a question paper leak.

According to police, Sushil recorded a brief video on his mobile phone before taking the extreme step.

In the message, he apologised to his mother and expressed emotional distress. The video was later shared with family members.
