Chennai, June 2 -- Marginalised in the BJP, facing a bleak future in the Tamil Nadu politics following the dramatic rise of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and Joseph Vijay's ascent as Chief Minister, the saffron party's former state president K Annamalai on Tuesday quit the partyand is likely to launch his own political vehicle on May 4, coinciding with his birthday.
Earlier in the day, Annamalai, who flew down to Delhi last night amid rumours that he was toying with the idea of forming his own party to position himself in line with Vijay and DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin, he called on union Home Minister Amit Shah and is believed to have explained the reasons for quitting the party, the reasons for the party's rout in the recent Assembly polls...
