Glasgow, Aug. 1 -- India's Ankush Panghal produced a sensational comeback to defeat England's Dimeji Shittu by a 4-1 split verdict and win the men's 80kg boxing gold medal at the Commonwealth Games here on Saturday, taking India's boxing tally to seven gold medals at the Glasgow Games.

Ankush endured a difficult start, losing the opening round by a unanimous 0-5 verdict after absorbing a heavy punch to the chin from Shittu. The referee administered a standing count before allowing the bout to continue, leaving the Indian with a mountain to climb.
