Dharwad, June 6 -- Mounting pressure on the Congress government over minority representation, Anjuman-e-Islam on Saturday demanded a cabinet berth for senior Congress leader BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan and called for greater representation of Muslims in the Karnataka ministry.
Addressing a press conference here, leaders of the organisation expressed strong dissatisfaction over Zameer's exclusion from the first list of ministers in the newly formed government and termed it an injustice to a community that has been a steadfast supporter of the Congress.
Anjuman-e-Islam Vice-President Bhaseer Ahmed Jahagirdar said the Muslim community expected fair representation in the cabinet and urged the Congress high command to immediately accommodate Zameer. ...
