New York, Sept. 4 -- Seven-and-a-half weeks after failing to win a single game in the Wimbledon final against Iga Swiatek, Amanda Anisimova has beaten the Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the US Open right before the New York crowd.
Seven weeks ago, she was in tears as she stood on the Centre Court podium. She had just lost 6-0 6-0 to Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon final.
Now she's beaten same opponent in the quarter-final of her home Slam, reports BBC.
Anisimova has beaten the player who demolished her in the Wimbledon final two months ago.
Anisimova turned to her coaching box and nodded.
