Los Angeles, Nov. 25 -- India's Reliance Animation is set to bring the life of global football icon Diego Maradona to the screen, having acquired character IP rights to develop an animated series based on the late star's extraordinary journey, Variety reports.
The Mumbai-based studio, a division of Reliance Entertainment, will produce a scripted series charting Maradona's rise from his childhood beginnings to international fame.
Intended for streaming and television platforms, the project is currently in development, with announcements on the creative team, distribution and release schedule to follow.
