Srinagar, June 10 -- In a major boost to rail connectivity in South Kashmir, the Ministry of Railways has approved a commercial stoppage for the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag following a meeting between Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The decision is expected to significantly ease travel for commuters, tourists and traders by improving access to one of Kashmir's key economic and cultural centres.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday met union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi and discussed various issues related to the augmentation of rail services in Jammu & Kashmir.
