Chandigarh, July 18 -- The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled an alleged cross-border drug and illegal arms trafficking network, arresting four suspected smugglers and recovering 5.557 kilograms of heroin along with two pistols in a major operation, Punjab Police said on Saturday.
According to the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, the preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested individuals were in contact with foreign-based smugglers who allegedly facilitated the supply of heroin and firearms from across the border.
