Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Amritsar police have arrested nine people in three separate cases involving alleged drug and illegal arms trafficking, recovering 8 pistols, 8.536 kg of heroin, four live cartridges and Rs 12.95 lakh in suspected drug proceeds, police said.
The arrests have also opened a wider investigation into links beyond those taken into custody. Police are examining what they describe as the forward and backward connections of the networks, including alleged contacts with handlers based abroad.
