Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Oct. 7 -- An Amritsar court has allowed jailed Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh to make a 10-minute video call to his ailing grandmother, granting him limited relief while he remains lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh Central Jail.
Additional Sessions Judge Barinder Singh passed the order after Singh's lawyers moved an application seeking permission for him to speak to his grandmother, citing her ill health.
Under the court's direction, Singh will be allowed a one-time video call of 10 minutes and the facility is to be provided within five days.
The court permitted Singh to "talk to his ailing grandmother through video call for 10 minutes" on one occasion, according to the operative part of the order.
