Chandigarh, Aug. 12 -- Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), the political outfit linked to jailed Lok Sabha MP Amritpal Singh, has announced two more candidates for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, bringing more of the group's former NSA detainees into its electoral campaign.
Daljit Singh Kalsi has been named from Ajnala and Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala from Moga, according to the announcement made by Amritpal's father Tarsem Singh in Amritsar. Both men were among Amritpal's associates detained under the National Security Act after the 2023 violence at the Ajnala police station.
