Kolkata, March 2 -- In an effort to swing the support of the state government employees and the youths of the state, union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday rolled out a series of assurances, promising long-pending pay benefits for government staff, and time-bound recruitment for unemployed youths if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal.
Shah's comments came amid an intensifying political battle with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whom he accused of neglecting the state's interests in favour of promoting her nephew Abhishek Banerjee.
