Chennai, Aug. 8 -- Upon arriving on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu and the Puducherry, union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers and had a darshan at Lord Arunachaleeswarar Temple--a famous temple for Lord Shiva--and attended a special puja at the Ramana Maharishi Ashram in Tiruvannamalai district on Saturday evening.
After landing at a makeshift helipad in the Temple town of Tiruvannamalai from Chennai, he participated in the ongoing Aadipooram Brahmotsavam celebrations and in the special abhishekam and offered prayers at the temple, regarded as one of the Panchabhootha Sthalams, where Lord Shiva appeared in the form of pillar of fire.
