New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday cut short a BJP programme in Goa after being informed about the collapse of a multi-storey building housing a boys' paying guest (PG) accommodation in Delhi's Satya Niketan area, where at least one person was killed, and several others were trapped under the debris.

Shah was attending the inauguration of the BJP's new state headquarters at Chimbel village near Panaji when news of the Delhi incident reached the venue. The formal proceedings were brought to an early close, with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announcing the decision before Shah left the programme midway.
