Jammu, July 18 -- At least five Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims suffered injuries on Saturday when a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident near Jakhani in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"A SUV vehicle, which was a part of the convoy heading towards Srinagar from Jammu, this morning collided with a dumper along the roadside in Jakhani area," said police.

Police, army and paramilitary troops, who were on duty for the yatra on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, immediately swung into action and shifted the injured to the hospital.

"The condition of all five injured persons is stable," said the police.
