Jammu, July 18 -- In view of the inclement weather forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department, authorities have temporarily suspended the movement of Shri Amarnath Yatra from Jammu on Sunday as well as the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims.
Officials here said on Saturday that no convoy of vehicles carrying Shri Amarnath yatra pilgrims will be allowed to proceed from Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, towards the base camps of Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam) on Sunday, July 19.
"Pilgrims are advised to remain at their designated accommodation centres in Jammu, Udhampur Ramban and await further instructions from the authorities," said Ramesh Kumar Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
