Bhubaneswar, Oct. 13 -- The National Green Tribunal has constituted a joint committee to probe allegations of forest encroachment, tree felling and unauthorised commercial activities at a resort in Nayagarh district.
The tribunal ordered an investigation into allegations of forest encroachment, tree felling and unauthorised commercial activities by a park and resort at Kotagada village under Ranpur tehsil in the district.
Acting on a petition filed by environmental activist Dillip Kumar Samantaray against Jay Santoshi Maa Hill Side Park & Resorts and others, the Tribunal issued notices to the resort proprietor and concerned government authorities and constituted a Joint Committee to verify the allegations.
