Darbhanga, May 17 -- Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) General Secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya Sunday launched a sharp attack on the government, alleging that the country is moving towards a system where "the government, through the Election Commission, is choosing voters," which is a serious threat to democracy.

Bhattacharya told news persons here that ''earlier voters used to elect governments, but now the situation is being reversed''. He raised serious concerns over the ongoing revision of electoral rolls, claiming that in Bihar and West Bengal, lakhs of names have been deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
