Thiruvananthapuram, June 7 -- Fresh controversy has surfaced over the appointment of a Managing Director (MD) at KeraFed, with officials in the cooperative sector alleging attempts to change the nature of the post, currently held by an IAS officer, to facilitate a contractual appointment.

According to sources in the sector, the move is allegedly being pushed by influential political and business lobbies seeking greater control over the functioning of the cooperative institution. Concerns have been raised that altering the existing structure of the post could weaken professional oversight in one of Kerala's most important cooperative organisations.
