Nashik, May 31 -- Truck drivers operating on the route from Gujarat's RTO border to Peth in Nashik district have alleged widespread illegal extortion at an RTO checkpost and demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter.
According to drivers, the rising cost of fuel has already strained their earnings, but they are now facing additional financial pressure due to alleged irregular collections by transport officials at the checkpost.
They claim that vehicles are routinely stopped and subjected to unnecessary delays, leading to long queues and operational disruptions.
